There will be a special election and a republican may very possibly win. Not “prudent”.

Exactly, the people you want to “show” don’t care. You won’t show anyone, you’ll hurt yourself. If you want to care about your values more than making actual changes in the world, go for it, but don’t expect people to suddenly see the light and ally with you.

It’s likely that we will lose a senate seat if Franken resigns. A special election will be held and someone will be elected in a state that almost went to trump where the other senator is a dem (making people feel like they need to “balance” with the other seat). The person Franken won the seat from was a republican.

The left is also doing a great job of radicalizing people right now too. We have to value cooperation again instead of demonizing people. And like, figure out how to have communities where people feel like they belong so they don’t go to fringe online places.
