I received the letter from Lime Crime and it said that customers who used PayPal were NOT effected. Since I used PayPal, I did feel the need to take any actions to safeguard my accounts.

WOW! I did not know anything regarding this situation. I bought a lipstick almost three weeks ago and surprisingly I got a phone call this past Saturday from my bank. They had to cancel my credit card because of fraud charges. This is the first time something like this happens to me, no wonder why.

Um I just realized that days after I bought something on their site, my credit card company called me saying that they blocked my card from being used in Wisconsin (I live in Uruguay, soooooo...)

You know, I can't help but feel this is some kind of karma. You do bad business, bad stuff happens to you.

This is why I do not trust almost all small sites to handle my credit card info. If I buy from them I will always use the PayPal checkout. I know PayPal sucks on their own right, but I trust them to be more secure than some random site.

With all the hacking going on lately, I've decided to request a new debit card and only use it online through Paypal. My current card number is saved on a ridiculous number of websites and I'm not really comfortable with that anymore.

Not sure why this isn't mentioned, but the thing that really caused the recent disclosure by LimeCrime was a thread on the Make Up addicts reddit community. I just read a couple of them and it became clear that this problem has been ongoing for a while.
