Jet cars have metal wheels sometimes wrapped with carbon fibre strands. If the calculate the forces involved it’s staggering that they can make a rubber based tyre strong enough to withstand the forces at 300mph for any sustained period.

But the Duc has latest electronic ohlins all round- i think it depends on track and rider- the k5 is a wonderful chassis and turns very easily however the latest bikes are a big step up. I rode my mates 20 S1000rr and every movement was an input on the bike- it’s an incredible machine- you can even set up the engine…
The oil level rising could also be an injector not atomising properly. Send your injectors out for cleaning and new nozzles. Runaway in a diesel is a real possibility of this is not addressed.
Anyone can hear a difference between £8/meter and £60/meter speaker cable but it absolutely depends on the transparency of the rest of the system (and the quality of the cable) The difference is not subtle at all as blind listening experiments have shown. The conclusions I came to when building (I mean that literally…
What a ridiculous and irrelevant arguement.... This is a sport- not a fake religion. Why don’t you educate yourself- watch the movie/documentary Road.
The Isle of Man pretty much shuts a whole island down for 2 weeks and they love the TT- Monaco does the same and they love F1- how this is seen negatively I have no idea. In Northern Ireland we have several road racing events and these are overwhelming seen as positive even with the inconvenience that’s caused. I…
Welcome to biking- some great advice has already been posted re gear, boots and armoured jeans but one thing I would say is learn to countersteer- it’s the only way to change direction quickly and could save you in an emergency situation and will help you in cornering- learn to do it consciously and it'll become…
I don’t think you realise how this would work- it is qualifying followed by 2 races- your position on the grid for let’s say the first ten is reversed depending on where you finished race 1. WSB do this every weekend and it makes a series that’s been dominated by one rider great to watch especially race 2.
You are being arrogant to the extreme. Why not go and experience road racing for yourself. Living in Northern Ireland it’s part of the culture here. The folk that do this know the dangers and some of the riders have already paid a heavy price and yet still do it.
Outside of the villages there is no speed limit on the IOM
A friend of mine had one-he went to a meet it drew more attention than the Ferraris there. They really are a fantastically fun vehicle.
At that speed assuming 19 inch rims with 2 inches of tyre wall the rubber has to withstand over 6000gs. This is why no tyre manufacturer will guarantee a sustained speed rating for 300mph. It can be done for a few seconds at best. At 250mph the forces drop to 4300gs (approx).
No it’s not....70 times more gun deaths (per capita!) in the USA compared to the UK. Even during the troubles (which I’ve lived through) Belfast was a safer place than Chicago.
You’ve never been to the IOM if you think that.
