I do think on viewing the episode a second time there's a certain timely poignancy, as you allude to, that the black victim of a crime wasn't given justice because a white cop (as a black cop put it) "didn't lose much sleep over it." Put the whole thing into a different and more complicated context.

I'm still wondering if it's somehow related because his Sick Boy hair looks so gloriously and appropriately awful that I can't tell if it's fake or if they truly fried his hair filling it with so much bleach and product! But the timelines don't work :( I think he looks awful with a shaved head, hope it grows back

It's such a small thing in the context of—well, everything—but I really, really adore how often she wears shirts or dresses with tigers on them. I love the quiet continuity nod of it. And I also love how Sherlock's "I'm not lucky, I'm good" shirt from the pilot episode that he puts on right after his "about six feet"
