I have become a huge XBMC fan! Would buy the new KODI shirt if it came in long sleeve! Amber is my skin of choice, set as vertical view. Have harmony 650 remote, which when not bumped, dropped banged, and the batteries aren't low works great. Have a gboxmx2 which is an android device. I have streamlined/simplified it

I was drawing the same conclusion. Not only that, I don't know what genre ambient music falls into, since it's not listed here. I listen to different music depending on my moods.

I bought this too, and use it for dvd ripping. I also use magic dvd ripper and dvd ranger, and trying clone buddy, dvd ranger's freeware alternative.

I tried this as well, and liked it, but made my comp too hot as well. I liked the portability as well.

No problem!

convert to an mpeg 2 or .VOB format. I believe Freemake will do this. I found a freeware program named AVS to DVD that does this well. Convertx2DVD is an awesome program that never fails for me.

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop, 2 gigs of ram I believe, integrated graphics card. I have used a laptop fan when converting with handbrake and convertx2dvd. When converting h264 files to a basic mp4 profile, video to video handles it pretty well, if I'm not running comic rack or other resource intensive program. I

So I have used most of these tools. I used to use SUPER when it was the only one to create h264 files. Then along came Handbrake, and it's pretty good but makes my comp so hot it scares me. Freemake is an easier solution, and handles h264, converts youtube vids on the fly.

I'm a huge fan of Lopesoft's File Menu tools, which is free. I don't use all of it's features, but it is quite awesome!

I took "Brave New World" as lit course in college, and Parable of the Sower was one of the required readings. Excellent book! The ideas here I don't believe I saw elsewhere, the storyline was great as well. Sad she passed away. Someday I may attempt to read her other works.

I've been teaching preschoolers for 11 years. When my son was conceived a parent told me my life would be turned upside down. Little did I know how true and how many changes would take place!

must be just my wife and I, but hearing this just shuts us down. A little ambient music works better for me (I'm an introvert at heart).

I am a fan of Q-Dir, have tried total commander, speed commander, and xyplorer too. GOTD is a PITA! lot of their stuff is cripple ware or leftovers no one wants. Q-Dir is freeware, gives a max of four tiles to work with. I don't have it integrated, but only use it when I have items from multiple locations to

So if the Wiki definition of a ripper is a tool that can facilitate ripping, I can't pick one. However, best quality rip to conversion goes to DVD Ranger, best all in one goes to Magic DVD ripper, swiss army freeware tool goes to DVD Shrink, and reliable freeware converting tool that is a facilitator goes to Freemake.

dvd shrink will do it. Click on the reauthor button, pick the place where the file/dvd is, then drag the video file over to the left column, followed by the start /end frames button. make your selection here, hit ok, and it's done. This one of the reasons its so popular.

thanks noisygecko! I'll give it a try on a couple of dvds this weekend.

I have two additional suggestions. Magic DVD Ripper and DVD Ranger. They are both one click options (dvd decrypter built in with conversion as well to avi format. Magic is about $40 and DVD Ranger $50. Great forum for each product.

I'm with you. I don't get why Handbrake is mentioned, unless someone has an older version which supposedly would work with a ripping tool. You might as well mention all the other conversion tools that handle dvds. I would have mentioned Freemake and DVD43 if that was the case.
