Development cycle was 2 years though. Treyarch and IW would take turns making it, so after releasing their game they then had 2 years to develop the next (and still support the current they have out for the first year)

i have to say that the Kinect is not that Obsolete like people made it out to be. I tried it at my friend house and quickly adopt it . The voice features are actually really cool and useful though.

Totally agree but then what can they do when the platforms themselves are pushing 1080p 60hz as the gold standard. Those little graphics tricks and optimizations won't help that much.
