I hear that's the coolest version!

I predict this will happen a LOT in the future. DLC will be pulled for games because the sales go down and the servers cost money, and ultimately they'll be turned off. I can go back and play many old games with all the content included... but in the future, games like Mass Effect 3 won't have the Extended Cut or From

Yeah, but in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, they just didn't include the offending characters and supported the rest. In this case, they're ceasing to support their own characters. Even if it's a "joint IP", none of the Capcom-only DLC infringes on any of Marvel's properties.

Curious why they're taking down their Capcom-only DLC as well, such as Capcom costumes and Jill.

Maybe, but there's no reason to take JILL or Capcom-only costume DLC down, right?

Entire characters were fenced off as DLC (even though they're on the disc). I'm more than unhappy that a fighting game can exist where certain characters from the game are permanently locked from future players because they were held back as on-disc greed, scummy DLC that nobody can even "download" anymore.

The rumor is the licensing agreement they had to use the Marvel characters is expiring and Capcom either doesn't want to, or can't afford, to pay the licensing fees to keep using them.

I don't see why not. They have Marvel vs. Capcom 3 as a cross-gen-compatible game (on Vita and PS3), and Injustice has sold very decently on PS4 already, despite being nearly a year old with no real new content to offer.

Yes. Jill and Shuma-Gorath will be entirely unavailable in the next week and a half and won't be available to use, despite their data being on the disc.

Doesn't matter. A few random tournament players isn't the same as several thousands upon tens of thousands of people actually playing the game day in and out for weeks and months. That's where the true weak links are found.

Which makes me think... with five new characters added that they can't possibly test as extensively as the community, they're going to inevitably do ANOTHER patch/update to rebalance the game again.

... and yet they put this on 3DS? During its "nobody is buying it" stage?

Anyone going to talk about how MvC2 and MvC3 are being pulled in a few weeks, with all the DLC being removed as well?

Didn't stop Injustice from being ported... and I'm pretty sure that fight sticks on next gen systems are inevitable, and likely sooner rather than latter.

Ports are much cheaper than actually making a new game, and Capcom would probably more likely port a successful game to a new system than spend any resources on a new installment with less systems out in the wild right now.

I'm still expecting that a PS4/Xbox One is in the works. By the time this releases next year, those new systems will entrenched in gamer's living rooms.

... But I AM waiting for the Super Ultra Mega Turbo Championship Edition!

Did someone mention Valve?
