Okay, I will engage with this once in good faith, because I do think there are people like you who genuinely do better in an in-person environment, and I DO think that despite the advances in teleconferencing technologies since the pandemic, the idea that zoom etc can completely supplement all the lost benefits of

I’ve never made a friend at work and never really wanted to.

It’s other people in OTHER ATVs, not the same one, lol.

It’s going to be interesting to see how Zoomers and Alphas act when they get bigger into voting.

Slight correction..

High real estate prices in 2009 weren’t driven by demand, they were driven by speculation. Vast quantities of housing sat empty, awaiting buyers at vastly inflated prices, until the collapse of the market sent many of those speculators (and many of their investors and those invested in financial products derived from

Hong Kong and Singapore are always ranked at the very top in terms of global economic freedom. Yet large portions of their population live in government housing.

This.

Good! Hopefully, the UAW can figure out how to leverage their power into forcing at least one party to provide a decent candidate. We have consistently (last 20 yrs or so) gotten garbage on both sides and, unlike the French with the last Macron election, American’s won’t protest when the only two viable parties give

And as long as we decide that “the market” will fix problems like this, it’ll stay that way. Unregulated capitalism does not have society’s best interests at heart.

I think the right answer is to double the amount of money and do both. This is the richest country on earth; there’s no reason why we can’t divert a measly $100 million from our >$700 billion defense budget (eg) to put forth decent, free (or at least cheap) public transit for our capital city.

Seems like an argument to increase public housing, not keep from expanding public transit.

“We need workers for our businesses!”

That used to mean something right up until they refused to allow railroad workers to strike last year - even after the unions jumped through all the extra hoops involved with the RLA to even get to the point that a strike could legally happen. The Dems had their chance to stand up for labor and they showed they don’t

Or the guy that forced rail union members to go back to work?

Agreed...When one of the most rewarding things in adult life is finding out that other people have the same problems and issues that you do...there is an utter lack of communication going on.  Totally agree with you, though.

What could have been a conversation ended with the end of someone’s life.

I’ll freely admit, eyewitnesses claim Neely was acting aggressively. But what does aggression mean?

I recently read that pretty much every EV qualifies for a full tax credit if leased.  It’s a gaping loophole.  I didn’t deep dive into this story but maybe do some googling and see what you can find out.

I think you are going too far in saying ‘a HELL of a lot’ — remember he ordered savage beatings of union organizers in 1941, years after GM and Chrysler had already recognized elected unions.

I want to go to one race for the experience, but I find it hard to believe it is as enjoyable as being able to watch the whole race, all over the track, like watching it on TV (I’ve been to other races, just not F1). Miami is obviously the best option as that’s where I live, but I would love to see some of the
