The answer, which will never happen, is htat we need drastically fewer cars on the roads regardless of type. And fewer roads for that matter. Or at least stop building/expanding roads.

The ones opting to operate 2.5 ton mobile metal bludgeoning weapons for sole personal benefit through dense urban areas, for sure.

“There’s nothing crazy going on or anything...”

annnnnd it already broke down, literally on the way home for the guy who bought it

Park to Ride. You stop at the end of a public transit line, park there, and take transit into the city proper. If you’re starting in the city and want to go out of it, Zipcar or such will do it for you.

If you can get the vast majority of places without a car, why have one. For a rare out of town trip, or even a costco run, you can just rent one (either a traditional rental or a zipcar-type thing) and it will still be vastly cheaper than paying to own, maintain, and park a car while not wasting space in cities for

“When more capacity is needed,”

“And the lawsuit is indeed a dumb one. In effect, they’re contending the increased traffic on side streets will cause environmental harm to the people who live there by directing traffic to 12th and 13th Streets, a disingenuous argument on its face because far more environmental harm comes from thousands of additional

So you are saying that the NYC council should rezone lower Manhattan to lower density to deal with the traffic?

Realistically the i3 is one of the ugliest cars ever produced.

I’m all for green cars, but not “Army green.” I wish Americans would stop fetishizing the military. C’mon, does everything need to be “tactical” now from trucks to pens? All this machoness is absurd. Anyone driving an Army green or Desert Storm tan colored truck who didn’t serve in the military is a poseur, and anyone

“Vice President, what are your feelings on reparations?”
“Triple money to schools! I was married to a dead teacher! Black parents need to be shown how to put a record player on at night so their kids hear more words.”
Centrist third way: That’s MY President.

Pivoting hard... to word salad?

While I respect Biden’s career-long strategy of affably standing near more accomplished people (it’s my only skill as well and works great!), you have to recognize that it does not prepare you to lead. The softening of his brain seems to have made him forget the point of it all.

it’s similar to Tesla where they are pumping money into worldwide expansion and undercutting the prices for rides until they get an amazon like level of marketshare where they can jack up rates with minimal competition.

Very thoughtful reply, thanks.

The regional chauvinism you hear from so many blue state liberals and leftists is tiresome and not productive - it won’t help unionize the South or defeat the far right in those regions, or build a mass socialist party.

It does make smug affluent people in the blue states feel better about

Those European billionaires are gradually chipping away at the European social safety net.

That’s why we need to expropriate the wealth of all of the billionaires (especially since all of that wealth was created by the working class)

I don’t know. Even the hard core lefties I know wouldn’t support government run Apple or Nike. Now an Apple or Nike majority owned by the employees with a democratic governing structure a la Mondragon, now that’s a different story. And VA-for-all instead of Medicare-for-all when talking about necessary national

Dear people saying “I’m cool with/I don’t care about billionaires”:

I’ve been willing to hold Silicon Valley accountable.
