Makes the decision to decommission nuke plants look all the dumber.
Makes the decision to decommission nuke plants look all the dumber.
If you read about this more you’ll see that what’s also going on here is the rank and file wanting to drastically change how the UAW works and how its leaders are elected. Their leaders have been screwing them for years particularly with these two-tier contracts and they’ve finally had enough. The rank and file…
Many of these salaried workers are non-union because they don’t work on the factory floor and don’t often need the bargaining power to demand competitive hourly wages.
If it’s between the union and management, you can bet your ass I’m always on the side of the union.
Beware! Once bought a used vehicle that ended up having insane electrical issues. Took digging into Toyota’s service history website to come across this service note “take it home, take the mats out, and let it sit with the windows open”. Successfully settled with the dealer for a couple thousand, but it was a major…
False. Over 50% of Norway’s wealth is owned by the government. Over 40% of businesses in China are state-owned and even the “private” ones all have party officials on their boards.
Look up petrodollar warfare. A primary reason the US military is strewn about the planet at great financial and environmental cost is to main USD as the world’s reserve currency and the the US’ economic hegemony. Also a reason why when Saudi Arabia cuts up one of our journalists with a bonesaw or finances 9/11, we…
Very curious why Gizmodo feels it’s in their purview to propagandize against North Korea?
I’m more interested in crypto’s potential to replace the petrodollar. Then again, I’m not a huge fan of US imperialism, so maybe that’s just me.
“It’s a privilege not to need a car”
People who want a manual are more fun and therefore should have the fun colors. This makes no sense. Also, just make an actual hatchback. This looks like a BMW 3-series GT and that’s not a good thing.
For sure, but I think at this event reviewers were saying they drove them for like 5+ hours off road and had plenty of juice left over. I can’t imagine many people will be driving off road to a camp site that’s 2.5 hours each way from a main road. Yes, some hardcore enthusiasts will, but not 99% of folks.
You wouldn’t get nearly that much efficiency gain from thinner tires. Fat tires make for a more cushy ride, particularly on our 3rd world streets.
That looks WAY better. I was looking at their site the other day for accessories that would fit in there and didn’t see any. The Hot Wheels version has a cover that isn’t functional, but at least looks better.
Yeah, it doesn’t really work. You’re better off just turning the assist level down to preserve battery. Pedaling would have to be significantly harder to generate a noticeable amount of juice. One of the benefits of e-bikes is how much momentum you generate going downhill because of the weight. No need to pedal.
I continue to apparently be the only person on the planet that thinks these things look dumb. I suppose my “lifestyle” isn’t “urban” enough, but the gaping hole in the middle seems like a major missed opportunity for cargo storage. And at $2k, this should really have fenders and hydraulic discs at a minimum. Many…
Some ebikes do brake regen, but they simply don’t have enough mass for it to make much of a difference. Pedaling to regen doesn’t really make much sense. You might as well turn the motor down/off if you want to preserve battery power. If you’ve run out of juice, I doubt many people would want the pedaling to be HARDER…
Cost. The battery is generally the most expensive part of e-bikes.
Americans are some of the most paranoid people on earth because many live isolated lives in the burbs and watch propaganda nightly that tells them the world is a big scary place full of dangerous people. The “safety” aspect is also an excuse to buy more garbage.
I mean, this is ubiquitous in the car industry. The advertisements are nearly all dangerous fantasies about driving too fast or too far off road.
