Tacoma: lol drum brakes, Camry engine, garbage gearbox, etc. Paying $36k for what is essentially a 16 year-old design with cloth seats and drum brakes is a bad idea. Plus, it’s a truck, not an SUV/CUV.

Lol, when was the last time you shopped new vehicles? None of them have good visibility besides maybe a Land Cruiser.

My FIL has a very similar truck. Same color scheme, 7.3, but crew cab and a dually. He also has a white one of the same vintage with the 7.3 but not a dually and supercab. One he inherited from his brother, the dually he found in a similar situation as the story above. Both immaculate low mileage single owner vehicles

If the idea of flying right now makes your skin crawl, just know that you’re not being any safer by driving to see your relatives.”

Seconded. This should be a lifetime keeper.

We’re planning to spend thanksgiving with my mom who is alone on the west side of Michigan. We and her all work from home and our kids do school at home. We’ll be self-quarantining for 14 days in advance out of an abundance of caution. There will be basically zero chance any of us have Covid and it’ll be 5 total

Ikea sells $100 Sonos speakers. Expecting a connected whole-house audio speaker pair with good quality sound for less than $358 is...a lot. I had a squeezebox radio back in the day and it sucked.

Your setup sounds like a lot more work than the plug-and-play nature of Sonos. You can get Sonos speakers for $100. You don’t need a bridge anymore and haven’t for a long time. You don’t need many components. You simply need one of their speakers and an app. They’re still at or near the top in terms of sound quality

People generally watch less TV when they’re at the peak of their social lives. Too busy socializing in your 20's and 30's to watch much TV. These same folks will watch more and more TV as they age.

You’re comparing a $4500 city runabout to a $100k+ electric monster truck. Why?

Very tempted to replace the Apple TV 4K with this primarily because of the content aggregation. Apple TV attempts to do this in the TV app, but it doesn’t work with all services which essentially makes it useless.

Unnaturally excited about this. Have been really wanting to get rid of my single-use plastic flossers forever. One question though, if the floss pod is good for 180 uses, and the refill is sent every three months, that means I’ll be getting twice as much as I need (floss once per day). If I don’t do the subscription,

Also, don’t watch cable news, for the same reasons.

Tesla gets special treatment because they won a lawsuit and the dealer lobby is strong in Michigan. It’s total nonsense and hilariously, the bill is written by a Republican. Gotta love their commitment to the free market!

What on earth does this mean?

China is still industrializing. There are paths countries have to walk to get to a point where they can then move on to more sustainable practices. This is akin to looking at the US in the 50’s or 60’s and complaining that they aren’t green enough yet. In the next 30 years the US will expand its use of natural gas

I did 40 from Michigan to LA and it was...fine. Would love to do US-2 some time because at this point in my life, I despise pretty much all interstates.

I mean, what’s the appreciable difference between 18 and 24 hours? You’ll still have to charge it once per day.

Don’t track your kids folks. You weren’t.

This seems like a freak out about a retail feeding frenzy, which is sad. So some people didn’t get to PREORDER a video game console because other people did a little early? Who gives a shit?
