I mean, the scene in episode 2 where Farrell and McAdams basically admit/realize that each is investigating the other and that no one wants the case solved for real is one of the best of the season.

For me Farrell and Kitsch are the highlights. And I enjoy Vaughan off and on, mainly when he's sharing scenes with Vaughan
The pawn shop thing came, I think, from looking at Caspere's main house and seeing if anything was missing?
I think it's a combo of Fukunaga directing every episode, plus establishing the visual look of the show. Sure, this season has a different setting and all, but the sunburnt visual style is carried over. So the new directors are trying to adhere to something Fukunaga set up on his own, without that restraint.
Closest thing I've seen to the Way of the Gun in years. That had perfect staging and timing, this had perfect kineticism and tension.
Well this an interesting development. As another commenter above said, this is a PR nightmare, and everyone's going to come down hard on the Taskforce Trio. And now with Doherty dead and gone, Vinci's lost its eye into their going ons. So although the Taskforce Trio will be the fall guys, they just gained an advantage…
Excellent way to put it. The suddenness of it all worked to its strength. And yeah, Paul using military tactics and phrasing, everyone else panicking, that was effective.

The kineticism of the gunfight was good. The chase for the car, trying to get a clear shot, etc. That I loved.

You joke, but an avocado shortage in LA? That's something you rip teeth out over.
Paul killed a bystander? Damn! I missed that. Have to rewatch that scene anyway, but I'll keep an eye out.
We'll see if she can use the karambit as well as the Raid 2 did.
"In Soviet Russia, sometimes your best self is your worst self."
Exactly. Ani even said that brass wanted it done quickly, although it seemed that Burris/Hey it's James Frain! was questioning them on moving so quickly. So I guess the higher up state investigation?
Good way to put it. This basically took the idea of a public gunfight and showed the insanity of it. I live in metro LA, with that crowded area, those narrow streets, etc. you're going to get people caught in the crossfire. It always bugs me that you never see utter chaos in gunfights on highways. This had that.
Check out John Carter of Mars. Kitsch is likable. Also more entertaining than Charmless Tatum, who is still the most random Gambit casting ever…
I am trying to figure out the connection between toxic land in the path of the high speed rail and the clear Chissani-Pitler-David Morse-hookers up north connection.
This is now my favorite comment on the Internet.
He continues to also be the best detective of the bunch (Ironic since he's the only non-detective on the task force). Each episode so far since the investigation started has had him doing a lot of legwork on files, IDs, etc. that proved to lead to the next part of the case.
