Yeah... articles like this just make me more angry that I own this game on Steam, but can’t get it to run at all.

I’ve had some success at that, but only when I’ve built A LOT of trust first. Changing a prejudice takes time, influence, and judgement.

Try the stuff from Momoru Hasoda like Summer Wars and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. I’ve had a decent amount of success with non-anime fans with those.

...and you’re right — it isn’t a genre. But those who aren’t in the know THINK that it is, and will therefore write off anything animated in Japan as being “anime”, and immediately dismiss it.

At my local theater you can pick from dubbed or subbed showings. I’m assuming it’s similar elsewhere?

I’ve been hearing such good things about Your Name. I just love finding anime that break out of expected stereotypes so I can share them with my anime-resistant friends and family.

Fair point, though the exclusives on the Xbox One (that I couldn’t get on PC at the time) weren’t anywhere as compelling for me as the Nintendo exclusives were. It was never really a temptation, sadly.

I usually like to go for the “raw power” and”sheer innovation” combo every generation - Gaming PC and Nintendo Switch, in this case.
