I wonder if Sony planned for the ps4 to have similar plans to Microsoft but because they kept quiet for so long we only heard the anti-microsoft plan in reaction to the backlash Microsoft had. Maybe they changed the gameplan and we are none the wiser.

Canned evaporated and sweetened condensed milk. Can be used in many recipes and don't go bad quickly like fresh milk. I like to keep them around as backup, plus sweetened condensed milk doubles as dulce de leche which is great to dip fruit in and use as syrup or sweetener in a ton of stuff.

I like to keep a bag or two of frozen chicken breasts around at all times. They keep for a long time and are an inexpensive protein to add to many dishes.

Speaking of veg stock, I like to keep multiple cans of chicken, beef and vegetable stock on hand. Its an inexpensive and quick way to add flavor. Replace water with stock in all sorts of recipes, making rice with stock instead of water is really great too.
