I saw this ad too and immediately thought it was scam, but I messaged the “seller” asking for images showing the inside of the car, and if the missing body panels were available. They did actually read the questions, but they deleted the ad themselves shortly afterwards.

Shhhhh! We were being quiet about this one for a reason!!! We don't need DT buying another Chrysler crapcan!

This incredible webpage which looks like GeoCities in 1999 also reveals the existence of a S10 Electric Pickup!

GM design peaked in the mid 2000's—it’s been all downhill since.

Well there were a few complete electric S-10s that got released into the wild. That drive train is about 95% EV-1. Just need to find one of those as a donor vehicle.

How could you register and drive this on the road anyway?

The Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum has one, but I’m not sure the condition.

Depends on what your goal is. Do you want to drive around in an EV1 taking it to Cars&Coffee, or do you want to keep it in a garage knowing it’s the 1 perfect example left in the world?

Just out of curiosity I wonder how much a fully functional EV1 would fetch at auction.

Hope you held a little money back because the AC needs a recharge.

Boy are you a sucker! I sent him FedEx overnight with $15,000 cash! You lose! It’s mine!

I’m more interested in the early Chrysler electric minivan with a manual transmission!

Huh neat. Checked and confirmed. http://www.kingoftheroad.net/charge_across_america/charge_html/faqs.html

Putting a modern drive train in it kinda ignores the whole point of trying to get one of the rarest cars back to how it was originally designed.
It’s much more interesting to see how one of the first ‘proper’ EVs was to drive, both in range and in other characteristics.
You wouldn’t put a lawn mower engine into a Benz

EV1 was leased and serviced at Saturn dealerships.

Why is the tool listed as a Saturn part?

Startling to know all of these weren’t red. Also startling to remember once upon a time GM knew how to style an attractive car.

You have to make body molds as soon as you get it, just in case

One of these would make a cool project.Fit a modern lithium ion drivetrain and you’re done.It could be registered in some states,no?
Just dont crash it! Making body panels 0r -god forbid- windows, from scratch gets crazy expensive
