Yeah, that's one of the big reasons why I wouldn't want more Beforel Orel, and would much rather have more post-Nature Orel. Putty was at his best after his daughter got through to him, and changed him.

Honestly, I don't completely buy that. Right wing American politicians hold the backwards social views they hold because it plays well with people in red states; i.e. their constituents, who ultimately give them power. I feel like defending them from the "unfair" attacks of puppets et al. is to ignore that some views…

It certainly doesn't have a problem with faith or religion. This show's happy ending explicitly had Orel and his wife remain devoutly Christian in the future.
