Nice! I was on the cusp of buying a 2006 9-3 Aero new and doing the EDP and Academy, unfortunately I had a career issue that kept that from happening :(

That sucks! One of the reasons we bought the S40 was because its auto was more manual-like than many other autos we had driven. Having a 900 SPG and a manual V8 Dakota in the driveway as well, it was a major selling point :)
I can’t talk for the S60, but the auto climate in my S40 actually blasts through the side and dash vents for the first few minutes in order to keep from not blasting you in the face
Volvo life! I have a 2010 S40 T5 R-Design. It actually made the drive from Denver, CO to McCook, NE interesting.
The trans is that bad? Damn, good to know :\. The 5AT in my S40 T5 is quite nice.

So people bitch and moan about BMW and Benz using numbers in their names that have nothing (anymore) to do with engine, but completely gloss over the fact that this T5 is not a 5-banger?

Most damning? Woodgrain. Nobody, no matter what parts they have to swap off of junkyard donors, would switch the matte panel for woodgrain in a Viggen.

When I decided to turn my daily driver 900 SPG, which lost its original head gasket at 348,000 miles, into a project and started tearing it apart, I drove both the NA and Turbo Velosters intensively. Having seen the vehicle in pictures and videos, it certainly seemed like a vehicle that would bring me the same values…

Lol maybe. But the NG900 was a decent successor to the OG900. It at least retained basic shape, ergonomics and some of the character
Except its not. It doesn’t have anything resembling the handling characteristics, ergonomics, cargo space or comfort of the 900
