I wasn’t a fan of his character because the stereotype wasn’t expressed in a new or creative way. There’s a lot of dumb, stereotypical redneck jokes that are old and busted. There’s also Jeff Foxworthy level clever which now defines the genre. His American stereotype didn’t really give me anything I didn’t expect so

I think it kinda worked how they intended. They are actually catering to an audience who delights in poking fun at America and American things, even if a good deal of them are Americans themselves. I mean, the show has always been about that to whatever degree and to smaller degree it was amusing, but at a point it’s

Trust me, the American fans all hated that segment too. Possibly even more than you.

This is basically where I am at. It’s his writers that needed to get the boot, not him!

“mixed feelings” they say. I call BS, the guy was unwatchable after 15 seconds. No idea what kind of personality he really has, but the one they wrote had none.

For me, Celebrity Brain Crash was the far lesser of two evils. The American segment was a cringe-fest every week, whereas at least we got “Is he not coming on then?” from CBC...

It would have been funny enough to see him slap some JEGS stickers on the test car and sign his name on the roof. Play the NASCAR angle, not the “Americans are hicks” angle. I always wondered if this was even funny for the non-Americans.

...does that mean he’s not coming on then?

On the other, I wasn’t thrilled with how Skinner’s character was portrayed. His hatred of import cars and undying love for fat-displacement V8s felt very heavy-handed and stereotypical. Perhaps this was funny for a non-American audience, but for me it felt tired and stale. Like, “Oh, look, here’s a twangy American

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought that got old quick.

They should have just changed the character to be what he was, a talented driver who could get a good consistent track time and provide helpful feedback on the actual performance of the car.

I think I speak for all of us when I say thank fucking god.

I don’t know much about the guy, but I imagine he is a decent chum who isn’t anywhere remotely as annoying as the character on Top Gear. Is it to much to just have an honest race car driver just be himself? Maybe play up a few parts of his personality or something, but sheesh, we don’t need the stupid over the top

That things got more plastic than my wife’s old dildo

Yeah, let’s blame it on those pesky millenials! Let’s not blame it on a range of motorcycles where the lightest weighs as much as the Death Star, the cheapest is still fucking expensive, the most powerful couldn’t pull the dick off a chocolate mouse, the most sporty has the dynamic prowess of a bag of shot badgers and

Buys cars sight unseen.

Why aren’t all women like this?! If I surprised my wife with this car she would surprise me right back with a swift kick in the balls.

I mean yeah - when I get mad at people for throwing things at my car, the smart play is to do further damage by using it as a weapon.
