Ford’s flights of literary fancy

Matt Gerardi - come on! I liked how light the theme song for s2 The Leftovers was, considering it’s, you know, The Leftovers. I might just be defensive because The Leftovers is literally my favorite thing on this earth. Having said that, I would cheerfully pay to see your imitation of Iris DeMent. 

Gotta say, Leftovers theme in season 2 was a welcome respite from the long boring instrumental opening from season 1. The entire show is “on the nose” so it’s not like the cheesy song took it away from it.

I actually liked the intro song to The Leftovers season 2. It was on the nose, but also just good even if the singer’s voice is weird

OPINIONS ALERT:

I liked “Let the Mystery Be” pretty well, but the dour instrumental theme for the first season of The Leftovers was awful. Also the latter was coupled to a camera pan over a pretty bad modern fresco depicting the not-a-rapture.
