Unless the F-14 gets off a couple of phoenix missiles off early. The effective range on the Phoenix is way more than that of the AMRAAM that the F-18 carries. But that wouldn’t make for a good movie because everyone likes to see dogfighting.

Every true jalop knows you only get a wheel big enough to clear your brakes. The performance hit you get from the increased unsprung weight from the larger wheel is always worse than the extra flex you get from taller sidewall.
