I’m pretty sure the designer of that car is Ben Bowlby. Zach may be the only engineer left on that project, but the true designer and guy behing the whole FWD idea is Ben (of former Deltawing / Lola fame)

That would be the Aston Martin high offset frontal crash test to satisfy the NHTSA. I give it 1.5 stars.

Normally aspirated 911 w/ 3 pedals and no sunroof. The newer the better and in silver. GT3, GTS or S. 991 preferably, but would look at a 997 if it was well taken care of.

I can see someone going for this on their mini ...

Maybe a CMM from the 70's...but most modern CMM’s can easily measure down to the microns repeatably.

Problem is vehicle CO2 emissions are controlled everywhere outside the US. The only easy way around it is to downsize the engine and turbo it so you can play games with the drive cycle by mapping the engine to not go into boost and keep the CO2 low during the drive cycle. That’s why all European manufacturers have

Don’t trust anything that comes out of Steve Saleen’s mouth. That guy is a snake oil salesman and owes money all over town to vendors he screwed over after his previous company’s rebirths.

Stef, where you channeling the 917 pink pig when painting that car?

They were on the same team but that was Ogier’s 3rd year in WRC while it was Loeb’s 14th. Put them together now to see if Ogier’s improved to where Loeb was / is.

I’d like to see Ogier vs Loeb on the same team and same equipment. Preferably on an underdog team.

This could have been so much better if they had just used a Cummins 4bt installed in the jeep chassis. Would have fit so much better with only 4 cylinders and made an awesome diesel off road beast.

Can you get the V6 Grand Sport in the wagon version & AWD. That would make a good sleeper.

Why is everyone designing flying buttresses into their cars...its like the new IT design feature that needs to go into every performance car! You’re not cool if your car doesn’t have them.

I think he was channeling the Dino Competizione in his design...I see a lot of it in his new car. The integrated front wing, bubble windshield, gullwing doors, etc...

How did they go to a 4 Valve Head?...the 964 (and for that matter all air-cooled porsche engines had 2 valves per cylinder). I think only the 962's and 959's had 4 valve heads but they were special water cooled heads.

My bad...the law was changed in 2001. Its been a while since I lived there...but prior to Sept 2001 you were able to drink while riding in the car.

Extraordinarily idiotic! FYI you can also drive a car with an open container in Texas and ride a motorcycle with no helmet. Claiming that a dune buggy, et al, is dangerous is such an oxymoron given everything else that is legal in Texas.

I’m pretty sure that Bush #1 started a war because Iraq invaded Kuwait.

Gasoline has an octane rating of 90~100 while Diesel fuel has a 15~25. So yes, diesel fuel will knock much more on the condition that the spark plug is able to ignite it.

That mechanic sounds sketchy to me. Putting diesel into a gasoline engine isn’t catastrophic. It will run piss poor and since the octane rating of diesel is much lower than gasoline, the engine will be constantly knocking. Putting gasoline in a diesel engine on the other hand could lead to some very high repair bills.
