But there are companies that make similar windshields for fighter jets that have to contend w/ similar impact requirements (bird strikes for jets). I’m sure they contracted with one of them to make this part. I can’t imagine its just a piece of lexan sheet they cut and bolted it on the chassis.

What tires did FF use vs Tesla? Production tires as equipped on the car, or DOT race tires. That can make all the difference. You can make a Toyota Tacoma outhandle a 350Z and beat it around the race track with the right tires (see Toyota X-Runner from a couple of years back)
