My husband is originally from the US, and moved north about five years ago. He ended up getting cancer a few years ago and then again last year, and honest to god, I’m so glad that if it had to happen, it happened here. We would have been bankrupted otherwise.

She may be one of the smarter ones in 45's administration. Having said that I still have a feeling she thought that Finnish people wouldn’t understand English, and so they wouldn’t clap back on her.

Same reason that free college scares them. No one complains about the “free” education we get through HS, because a HS diploma really doesn’t get you very far these days. But add on those extra 4 years, which might allow the poors to have a chance, and everyone goes nuts because that financial advantage might be taken

Yes. What NH really meant is “you RICH PEOPLE won’t like their answer.”

I’m in Canada. I went to a clinic on Wednesday for back pain. Got a same day appointment. Waited about 15 minutes. Got a prescription for pain medication. Went to another clinic for an x-ray. Waited less than 1 minute. All told I lost about 1 hour of work and paid a total of $9 (for the medication.) I’m so happy I’m

She followed up with: “Health care costs are too high that is true but comparing us to Finland is ridiculous. Ask them how their health care is. You won’t like the answer.”

when rich people hear that we want everyone to get equal access to healthcare, they naturally assume that means they’ll have to suffer the way we do, because they know that their extreme wealth depends fundamentally on our poverty

But but but...if we had some commie pinko European socialist healthcare here we’d have to wait MONTHS just to get in to see a doctor!

Five years to shutdown. Two years until active development ends.

I feel like too many companies are rushing into the “always and only online” future. Net connections in areas with solid internet infrastructure can probably support this kind of streaming tech, but out in the country, the basic physical frameworks required for this sort of thing to work at all are just not present.

I

or until their “disruption” runs into actual world problems like google fiber and instead of spending their billions of dollars to fix it they just throw up their hands and walk away

Two.  They’ll have to justify the resources they committed, and two years qualifies as “the old college try.”

So are we betting one year or two years before Google gets bored and just shuts the whole thing down?

Aw, poor thing. I guess they didn’t expect to catch so much heat over the garbage product they released to unsuspecting customers.

Imagine being such a corporate cheerleader that you demonize consumers from organizing and giving feedback. Maybe instead of being a bootlicking megacorp apologist, you could find your moral center and realize that these companies don’t want complaints and that most of this narrative is designed to serve them.

You mean you want gamers who pay $60 of their hard-earned cash for a broken AAA title to be nice and friendly with the fucks who ripped them off?

That’s cool and all BioWare but it’s still the extremely limited and repetitive means to get that loot that’s the biggest issue and already burned me out.

I see we’re at the unfuck part again. Prepare for the refuck.

Looks like a pain anywhere except in the UK.

As I commented on in another thread, that was an amateurish presentation and unveil.
