The normal G isn't going anywhere. Merc is investing hundreds of millions in updating it for the 2017 model year. This GLB will be a ~$36,000 entry-level, smaller crossover. The affluent people who buy the $100,000+ G-Wagen know the difference, and will continue to buy the G. The GLB really seems like an even more

That concept previews the next G-Wagen more than the GLB. Expect the G to be just as rugged an SUV as ever — just updated in necessary places.

Nice try…

Re DaimlerChrysler — FCA still relies on the old E-Class platforms underpinning the 300, Charger, Challenger and Maseratis. Of course they've been updated and tweaked over the years, but it continues to save FCA money. Developing a brand-new FR platform would be hundreds of millions.

Toyota is a great example of auto globalization. They sell incredibly well throughout the world, and they don't need a million brands to do so.

How quickly they would pillage Jaguar and Land Rover's platforms.

I, for one, love a simple Lamborghini. So I find this cool. The Veneno was way over-the-top for me.

I think they did.

For those who want a "McLaren," but don't want a McLaren.
