There are lots of other speakers out there for under 2k that didn't get mentioned, so spread your wings and go find 'em folks.

@spydr101: Well said sir, "I second that emotion".

I recall being told by a studio engineer that one of the prime reasons for their use. They engineers & producers knew that most people would be listening to the recording on inexpensive gear and the NS-10 let them hear what that recording was going to sound like on mid to low quality equipment. They wanted to make

Now that's pretty funny

@twinturbo2: That's great, I wish I had thought to include that and I'm happy you did.

@MizJenkins: Indeed I did, sorry about that and 'thanks' for the correction. I think she is such a mean person and her whining that her 1st admin rights were at stake is sooo pathetic.

Go away & good-bye Frau Brucher, uh I mean L. Schiessenger (apologies to M. Brooks & C. Leachman)

Only Bugs Bunny can accurately describe John Cougar (oh, that's right, it's Mellencamp now), "what a ma-roon, what an im-beeee-cile."

Overall kids, I'd give this one a "4". It's somewhat misleading. Yeah, if you've bought a "home theater in a box" then using zip cord is probably the right thing to do. WELL, I upgraded my 3G to iOS4 last night, did the full monty (by the book) and mine is most certainly faster than before. Go figure, but anyway I'm happy with the upgrade.

Talk about a dock's first impression, here's the one that got me. Yes, it was more money than I was looking to spend. But not only did it look darn spiffy, but it sounds great. BTW, you do have to add your own speakers with this one. It's the Fatman Carbon: [www.fat-man.co.uk]

Yes boys & girls CES WAS a "different kettle of fish" back then. It was a much more fun show than it is now, sigh. Oh well, things change. But I really do miss the summer CES in Chicago.

What beautiful photographs! Thank you all that participated in making these.

Sorry Giz-folks but tying a knot in the cable is just plain "a bad idea". I've never seen a pair not marked left & right. All you need to do is look at the earbud, insert in correct ear ("no, put it in your 'other' right ear numb-skull").
