Nah I am also Finnish and have a Herring Problem, your dad and I are fine here. Unless he was a regular of one of these particular Dutch shops, our preferred stinky fish source is probably unaffected by this news.

these are not canned fish. These are raw fish, that are preserved trough a technique called gibbing (take out the gills and guts, but leave in the liver and pancreas. Then preserve in salt. And nowadays, freeze) Because this is still basically raw fish, it is an extremely sensitive product, and preparing it is an art.

I suppose as someone in their late 20s I’m not a kid anymore, so I can’t say what Jamaican teenagers are eating but I can confidently say it’s still a fairly popular snack

I’m bothered that people get free services if they allow treatment of their medical conditions to be used on social media. That’s at LEAST bordering on coercion for people who desperately want and need treatment but couldn’t otherwise afford it.

They did it because of fear of death, fear for their families, and because they have been tortured and brainwashed through horrible conditions to follow the rules. Not saying what they did was right, but just explaining why. The people have been tortured and starved into be “good” little soldiers.
