I think Horizon Zero Dawn did a pretty good job at both? The Hud is pretty stylish and if you want immersion it can dynamically/permanently hide individual things you aren’t interested in having around all the time.

I hadn’t really considered this, interesting. I guess HUDs are kind of like Soundtracks in that way, those have been getting steadily more unobtrusive as well.

According to Mark Cerny in the Road to PS5 talk they designed the console around being okay drawing max power all the time and the cooling around being fine quietly cooling that all the time.
