I didn’t want it to go like this, but when one of the Nats beat reporters said his other opportunity had been while as a Dodgers player, and the LA Dodgers didn’t even field a triple play until the 90s, I knew something was up. I didn’t think it’d get this far though.

Dusty Baker had a nice story after the game about how this was the first triple play he’d ever actually witnessed. His only other opportunity he’d missed apparently because he’d left the dugout for a mid-game bathroom break, only clued onto something cool happening when he came back to see the dugout celebrating.

It will continue to be a historic year of firsts for Washington. In November, we’ll either elect as President the first woman or the first Cheeto-American.

I mean, heavens forbid they actually use that technology to figure out where a punt goes out of bounds so the refs don’t walk it back up an extra 10 yards, it’s not like I’m bitter about that or anything.
NBC’s hyper-jingoism and constant “US as the underdog” coverage (even though we are the favorite in 70% of the events) makes me actively root against the US in every event.
Or maybe showing the opening ceremonies at 8pm is the beginning of prime time. Although I think times have changed and the idea of “Prime Time” is outdated, and nothing beats live, but not everything is a conspiracy.
The black dog definitely made a football move.
