How many times is this? Add one more for the next time. Do I have to do everything around here?

Seriously. There’s nothing shameful or secret about it and there’s nothing wrong with mentioning it *when it’s relevant* but appending it automatically is offensive.

Because somehow someway it’s very relevant to note that a grown child did not drop out of Rosie (or her ex’s) vagina.

I just don’t know how many times we’re going to have the adoption talk on Jezebel.

“...Rosie O’Donnell’s adopted daughter Chelsea...”

I suspect a lot of these type posts are regional to major metropolitan areas (New York, LA) because some of the behavior that flies there (rudeness to ladies) wouldn’t fly so quickly in other parts of the country. I also feel like people assume that those areas represent everywhere.

I think your issue is you’re nuts. and I’m going to leave it at that.

As a male jezebel reader I would like to point out to some of the people posting that guys are bad at picking up on hints, this is incorrect. Most guys that willingly ignore hints know exactly what they are doing. They probably think you are playing hard to get or they just happen to be relentless douchebags. Either

..... Yes? What the fuck? Who takes pictures of people naked in their OWN FUCKING HOMES???? Like you guys need to get right with the lord because your weird need to violate people’s privacy is disturbing.

Can this friend come to work with me (where I’ve just returned after 7.5 months of medical leave) and remind people that it’s not appropriate or appreciated to compliment someone on their weight loss, esp. when it’s because I WAS REALLY FUCKING UNWELL ?

God bless chemical manipulation that keeps me from being in pain for three to five days a month.

I take it very seriously. Without that “chemical manipulation” I would’ve lost my ovaries to PCOS years back. Definitely not sexy. Neither is unplanned pregnancy or any of the other painful conditions the BCPs can treat. Humans intentionally alter the ways their bodies function all the time, since time immemorial.

I had a thoracic surgery a year ago, and whenever I catch people staring at the scar, I say really loudly and cheerily, “It’s from where they took out the tumor!” They look so embarrassed they usually back the hell off after that ^_^

This isn’t a matter of whether tattoos are the same as scars from a tragic accident. It’s still no one’s goddamn business how or why I got it. No one has the right ask questions about anything on another individual’s person unsolicited, and expect a nice response.

I’ve done that! A friend was engaged for the second time. Her first engagement had ended about a year prior to this engagement. She confessed to me that she hated how people kept kidding her about “all” of her engagements. So when we were at a book club meeting, another woman there said “Oh wow, engaged again. Are you

“throw a hot coal at her”

This is a great reminder for everyone. Medical people should take heed of this, too. Sometimes you forget to turn it off. Asking about these things is inappropriate in social settings. ESPECIALLY scars. ESPECIALLY in places where someone is exposed. Keep your medical inquiries to the exam room.

Tell her if she loves your scar so much you’d be willing to give her one twice as long anywhere she wants it. Then do the dragging the thumb across your neck thing for good measure.

Can you take a friend with you who can say “Woah, that’s totally inappropriate!”? Because I would be that friend.

Justin Bieber should sue. That shit was a violation of his privacy and it’s fucking creepy that Paps used weird covert measures to try and look at his wang.
