I watched this when i was a teenager and thought it was great.

I had some of that with Watchmen - I only read it for the first time in 2003/4 and it was like watching Citizen Kane except with a giant squid: i could see that it was good, but i kept wondering why it was acclaimed as great, especially when the ending was so frakking stupid.
