I already don’t want to see Suicide Squad (and I am their target geek audience), but hearing about Leto’s BS makes me 100% certain I won’t watch it. I’ve had it with the hardcore method actors, I’ve worked with people who screamed all day, one guy who kicked me, and another who threw hot food at people. It’s all “for

Thank you, very much for writing this. For me it’s not a spouse - it’s my Mom. Dementia is horrible and brutal to witness - I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Best of luck to you and Mary.

My wife and I have discussed what we would do if we ever faced such a scenario. We have no qualms about ending our own lives.

I come to Deadspin.com for poop jokes and lowlight reels.

My mother was diagnosed at 52 and showed signs as early as 50. My dad cared for her as long as he possibly could, but she’s 60 now and living in a memory care facility. He still goes and feeds her lunch and takes her for a walk most days. You’re more than Adequate, Man. And Alzheimer’s is more than a punchline.

Thanks for sharing this. For family members dealing with serious illness, I’ve found it cathartic (for both caregivers and victims) to bring it out of the dark and let people know.

I do home visits with, by and large, a 70+ year old population, which is where I’ve had the largest experience with Alzheimer’s. I’ve seen the toll it takes on caregivers (the Sundowners, constant personal care needs, inability to leave them unattended for any length of time, etc.), and it was one hell of a toll. To

Thank you for sharing this. My wife’s mother was recently diagnosed with the early stages of frontotemporal dementia and it has been devastating news for her family. Her father has especially struggled with it and how to communicate with her, both emotionally and otherwise.

I’m so sorry to read this, because it is truly heartbreaking, and yet I can’t help but think it deserves an even longer treatment somewhere. If it gave you any solace at all to write about your experience, please look into expanding on it if you can. It’s something that many of us, sadly, can relate to.

Except his teams win.

The criticism I always here of her is that she’s making the same movie over and over. As if Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell and every other male comedian ever didn’t do that exact same thing.

THIS TAKE IS ALMOST TOO HOT TO TAKE

Yeah, I know. Coyle cross-checked Keith in the face, then tripped him, and Keith got suspended for waving a stick towards his head in retaliation.

Spineless.

Hold on. How did Kobe perform in this game?

I wonder what his tour rider will look like?

I have season tickets. Went to nearly all of the games. This season made me sad. It was a collective failure.

Kinda seems like Hoiberg threw Butler under the bus the other day as well. I think what’s lost in all of the gossip and talk about dysfunction is the very clear fact that this is hilarious because fuck the Bulls.

Hayes’ attorney has certainly fulfilled the ‘throw every conceivable piece of shit against the wall to see if any of it sticks’ requirement of the defense.

We should get so lucky.

Thanks so much for continuing to cover this story. I’m a third-generation UT grad myself and work three blocks from campus and I know so many people who are still reeling over this because nothing like it has happened in our collective memories. This was actually the first homicide investigation the UT police opened
