I think the sport part is what causes the confusion. If individuals pressing buttons can be considered athletes. A bunch of individuals pushing chess pieces can be classed the same.

I played the hell out of Galaxy 1 & 2. I don’t ever recall having issues with the spin. I’m shocked that it is actually an issue.

I think the licensing fees was the main reason Nintendo was abandoned as not every JRPG went with the grandiose cut scenes as FF.
