He collapsed/passed out after the Deadspin awards, possibly wasted or not, and ended up choking on his own blood and had to be taken to the ER for some sort of emergency head/brain surgery, which apparently required several weeks of recovery time. I don’t know if we’ve gotten or are going to get more than that.
