Ok but what about the fact that via gerrymandering, disenfranchisement and the closure of polling offices makes it really hard for the people who’d be voting against these folks to actually even vote?  If the laws are rewritten to specifically help out white Republican voters while freezing out the rest, what do you

“The flaw in any government program is that they’re endlessly funded with no requirements for performance or outcome.”

You’ve played your hand and it’s full of shit. You’ve obviously never spent any time working in the public sector and are regurgitating something you heard someone else say.

Wherever did you get the idea that government programs are “endlessly funded” with “no requirements for performance or outcome”? I work for the government and every program we run is totally contingent on hitting goals and outcomes. Before we get funding we have to prove we can meet the goals and after we get the

“drug users aren’t only victims of addiction; they’re people who have made the unwise choice to develop a drug habit and the continued choice to not rectify it”

Yeah - I can tell that the blue-collar folks might hold it against her because she’s a smart person. But hopefully her blue collar beginnings will outweigh that - cause frankly, she got to where she is because she’s smart and she works hard. She’s also not afraid to say that she was given an opportunity because of her

I just stopped by to say that David Brooks sucks and I hate him.

I don’t think that’s what the word ‘litigated’ means.

Don’t be interested. That is exactly what he wants. Do not forget the VP is literally nothing and Joe is Republican-lite corporatist trash.

Hey there! Prior to you linking me to the NPR story, I had never heard of this phrase’s other uses and connotations, but given the history of the phrase, we’ve since changed the text to read, “calling it like she sees it.” Thanks for bringing this to my attention. This was a good bad-faith comment.

unfortunately, she did take it & didn’t jail him the first time.

With a typo.

(I)n the long run, the Democratic Party may actually be healthier for Hillary’s failure to secure the Presidency - look at the diversity and courage of the freshman class of House Representatives.

But I’m glad she did. I’m less glad she apologized. Something the Democrats should have learned from these last few years is that they shouldn’t apologize for what they believe, whatever it is they believe. You believe that AIPAC is poisoning our politics? Go ahead and say it. Have the conversation. Don’t let it be

Actually I believe she did. :)

It’s fun to be of Jewish heritage and be accused by racist shitbags for being anti-Semitic because I don’t co-sign everything Israel does.

One can make the argument that since Israel is specifically a “Jewish State”

It’s sad that you read this article and learned nothing from it. The ‘data’ you present is from dogsbite.org, and is in no way an ‘investigation’. Going to that site for accurate information on dog bites is like using an anti-vaxxer site for accurate information on vaccine risks.

The private sector.

Replacing government workers from the private sector does not automatically get you cheaper, better quality services. It usually gets you higher costs with less service as the private sector attempts to extract profit from something the government does at cost.
