Gwkr. Hellooooooooooooo

And when I pointed out last week that many stolen cars in the southwest go across the border to Mexico without saying anything about the thieves themselves, I got called a racist, right here in these comments and yet here’s an article that confirms what I said, stolen cars in the southwest US get taken to Mexico.

Good analogy.

yea except clinton is the actual crook, dishonesty in every glance

So you’re not going to dispute any of the points I actually made then. You’re just going to pivot to something else - hey, look at these guys with fake guns! - and then call me a pussy.

Exactly. I think anti-gun people believe that gun owners are just constantly paroling their house, leaving all their guns out in the open “just in case”. This goes against gun safety, which maybe, say they go to a gun safety course, would understand. It IS preventable, and not by just not having guns. I’m ok with

How dare someone exercise their civil rights? SHUT THEM DOWN!

If people aren’t smart enough to figure out “don’t touch the gun,” a refresher course isn’t going to help.

The receiver legally *is* the gun. Saying you “just have to machine the receiver and barrel” is akin to suggesting that a block of raw metal is a gun, since all you have to do is machine it into one.

A good bit of gun safety involves drilling into people’s heads about what to do when simply handling a firearm, and, considering the number of accidental deaths the U.S. deals with, a good refresher about what you consider common sense doesn’t sound like a bad idea.

Damn - how dare the promote gun safety!

None, depending on your state/municipality.

sorry but why is that an issue regardless? What’s wrong with a booth that wants to sell replicas of real firearms?

Since it is illegal to sell “submachine gun bits” in the United States, I am guessing that they might have been selling “semi-automatic firearm” bits which are legal. And seriously, with the number of guns owned by criminals (not subject to universal background checks, by the way), it makes a lot of sense to me for

Cut them some slack. Everyone at Gawker is busy working on their resume.

I believe I’ve heard before that it’s easy for people to fear what they don’t understand, which is why we like to include diversity in schools, places of employment, etc. Exposing people to new ideas to reduce their fear and ignorance is the goal.

Yeah, I am confused. I did an eyeroll about the “protecting family and belongings” bit, but gun safety classes seems like a top notch idea.

How is promoting “gun and safety classes” cause for alarm? Hollywood mythologizes guns to the point where many onscreen depictions are inaccurate. If someone picks up a gun, thinking it works the way it does in movies, someone is going to get hurt. It might be them, it might be someone else, but someone will be

I thought the Olympics only had 3 or 4 sports. This is very eye-opening
