This movie does not definitively tell what happed to Han, Luke and the others after Return of the Jedi. This is fan fiction. We well never know what happened after Jedi. The story ended there. JJ can’t kill off Han with his fan fiction any more than I could.

I liked the movie but it is fan fiction. Han isn’t dead. Everyone lived happily ever after Return of the Jedi. The new movie is nothing more than an interesting “what if”
