Another one I will add that annoys me to no end in my new car is “pushbutton transmissions that will not go from drive to reverse unless the wheels are at a complete stop.” One of the ways you get a car out of a snow bank is to slam on the gas in gear, get the weight to shift forward, then let off the gas, put it in

It actually really does help fuel economy. As somebody who spends multiple hours a week in stop and go traffic - the kind where you’re on the highway for an hour and the engine is spending more time “off” than “on” - it genuinely makes a difference in fuel economy.

I might be the only one who actively dislikes Android Auto, because (unless there’s a different implementation of it I’m unfamiliar with) you constantly have to leave it to change the AM/FM/Satellite radio station, and then go back into it.

Needles is 35 miles away and has a half-dozen gas stations, and while prices there are slightly higher than your average interstate truck stop, it’s not this crazy.

There is an outstanding recall on my 2015 Ford Mustang for a backup camera that intermittently doesn’t work (which is true for me). My dealer keeps putting off doing the recall because, essentially, they just don’t want to.

Before reading this article I would absolutely not have guessed that in 2024 Nissan has more market share than Hyundai. Everybody used to buy Altimas, but I can’t remember the last time I saw a Nissan made after, say, 2020.

My choice came down to the CX-90 vs. the Palisade, and in the end the Palisade had more space and was a few thousand dollars cheaper when similarly equipped (and, to be fair, I was worried about mechanical issues with two new, extremely complex drivetrains in the CX-90, and those have kind of proven to be founded, I’m

It is absolutely amazing. Incredible. I cannot recommend it highly enough. I feel weird being a Hyundai evangelist, but I simply cannot think of any reason why anybody would buy any other vehicle in the segment (other than the Telluride, of course, although the Palisade has a nicer interior). I got the Calligraphy AWD

This thing is more than two feet longer than a Chevy Suburban. It’s a foot longer than the longest Ford F-150. It has a longer wheelbase than 4 of the 5 models of F-350 (it’s six inches shorter than the F-350 Crew Cab Long Wheelbase).

If you’ve never seen a Bugatti Royale in person, it’s almost incomprehensible how huge they are.

I’m not selling my 2015 Mustang GT any time soon, but if I were to do so, I’d point out that while the car’s interior is perfect, and the car is mechanically perfect and has been dealer-maintained its whole life, and I’d point out the comprehensive repairs I just had done at 100,000 miles, I’d also say that I street-pa

The wheels on my Mustang are scuffed and curb rashed to no end because I street parked it in Brooklyn for 5 years. Honestly would never occur to me that somebody would care about such a thing.

To the extent that there’s a bright side to this, at least on my 2024 Palisade, there’s an LED indicator next to the center touchscreen that shows each of the second and third row seatbelts and whether they’re latched or not, and the cars dings at you and shows a warning on the dash and the HUD if one of the seatbelts

So here’s what I was told when I asked an electrician about this: I would need to pay for a new electrical branch line to run from the main overhead trunk line at the street, and doing so would require town permitting. Then I’d new to replace the meter entrance and put in a new panel to upgrade from the 100 amp

Imagine selling a $60k+ car without standard LED highlights.

For one, my house’s electrical system is 65 years old and would need to be completely redone to install an electrical charger. For two, it wouldn’t necessarily be any cheaper to operate (I considered buying a Mazda CX-90 PHEV, and calculated that for the cost of electricity combined with the EV only range and battery

On the few occassions I’ve seen these in person, I’m always shocked at how small they are.

The car has not been crash tested by the IIHS or the NHTSA. Since it’s mis-classified as a Class 3 light truck (it’s about 900 pounds short of the GVW requirement, but Musk doesn’t care), it’s exempt from a lot of otherwise required safety details.

It has no crumple zones. It has no side impact rails. It has a steer by wire system with no mechanical backup, so if you lose power mid-corner you’re going to die. It cannot go through a car wash without ruining the body panels. It has a windshield wiper that breaks down constantly. It has a manual release for the

They clearly don’t use airplanes, since the question anticipates the car being used both places.
