NP. These are cool as hell and the window louvers make it beautiful as well. Figure it’ll take another $2k to make it daily drivable and you’ve got a hell of a 3 season commuter for less than $10k here if you slap some winter tires on it.

The RAV4 hybrid uses a different type of AWD technology that, to my knowledge, is only shared with its platform mate, the Lexus NX (along with, I think, the Lexus UX hybrid), and with the new Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in hybrid. There is no driveshaft — power to the rear wheels comes entirely from an electric motor.
There was a typo; “spittle” should have been “should” and I’m unclear on why that came out that way from my phone. But there’s nothing at all unnecessary about a Rolls Royce with portal axles.
... adhesive? You’re mounting your brand new $1000+ micro computer to a speeding motorcycle using... glue? The same stuff that can keep dry macaroni stuck to my kid’s art projects?
What in the world are you talking about? What does gender have to do with anything? This comment makes no sense. I got my COVID vaccine, my booster, and my covalent booster the first day I was eligible for each. Just because you’re vaccinated, it doesn’t mean it’s safe to leave your home. Gender has nothing to do with…
I’ve never owned one or driven one, but the only pickup trucks I’ve ever been a passenger in have been single cabs. Having two rows of seats in a pickup seems pointless, and if you can adjust the steering wheel position you really don’t need seat adjustments.
I mean, I very rarely operate a motor vehicle these days, since I can count on both hands with some fingers left over the number of times I’ve left my house since I caught COVID in May (which was the only time since the beginning of the pandemic that I went anywhere indoors around unmasked people).
1,112 Americans died of COVID *yesterday*. How can you possibly say it's no longer a deadly threat? That's saying nothing of the hundreds of millions who will die of heart failure or respiratory failure in 5 or 10 years because of the damage COVID did to their internal organs. I've had 2 COVID shots and 2 boosters,…
Better safe than sorry. The best course of action is to be fully vaccinated and boostered and to never leave your home under any circumstances. Since that’s not always possible, you want to try to layer on as many levels of protection as you can while still limiting your contact with the outside world to the maximum…
My then-3 year old got it at preschool last December. In May I got it at a work event, only time I’ve been indoors work unmasked people since March 2020. Gave it to them again. I haven't gone to work or stores or family or friends houses or parks or anything since then in May.
Seems like a great car and all but at a $55k starting price you can just get a lot more from other EV’s than from this. This seems like it should be the Ford Maverick of EV’s -- simple, functional, clever little nooks and crannies, and cheap. And it seems like VW just whiffed on that last part.
I have definitely thought this through. COVID is all I think about from the moment I wake up until the moment I go to bed. I dream about watching my kids slowly die of congestive heart failure as a long term result of COVID. I’ve spent thousands of hours over the last 2 1/2 years reading every single study I could…
I’ve had it twice. My kids have had it twice. My wife has had it three times. I do not expect any of us to survive very long. COVID isn’t a cold; it’s not something you get over. It stays with you for the rest of your life, and eventually it’s going to kill you, whether that’s today or a month from now or a year from…
We’re all vaccinated. I drove 1,400 miles to get my first two shots the moment they became available, and got my first booster and my covalent booster the very first day I was eligible for them. And I got my kids their first vaccine shots the very first day they were approved for under-5-year-olds. It’s still not safe…
My 4 year old (then 3) picked up Omicron at her pre-school last December and gave it to all of us. That was really the end of our complete quaranting, when she had to start pre-school a year ago September. Before that we would only see friends and family via Zoom and never went to any stores. Then I picked it up and…
It hardly matters. We’ve all had COVID multiple times; we’re all going to be dead soon. I’d just like to stick around as long as I can to enjoy however many years (months?) we do have together before the long term damage from COVID inevitably takes us all.
I believe that COVID is going to lead to total human extinction. I do not believe that anyone who has contracted COVID is going to be alive 10 years from now. In the first 2 years of its existence, COVID-19 killed more Americans than HIV did in the first 40 years of the AIDS crisis. Like AIDS, but 20 times deadlier.…
