Whether someone goes through the legal process of adopting their partner’s child doesn’t really have any bearing on what the actual substance of the relationship is. I don’t think that’s a particularly difficult thing to do where the other parent is involved. My stepfather never adopted me and I consider him my father

okay, Woody. down boy.

Your first post is interesting then. Woody Allen entered Soon Yi’s life at when she was ten years old, as her mother’s romantic partner. He occupied that position for a decade. Even though it’s factually incorrect to say she was his stepdaughter because he never actually married Mia, or her adoptive father because she

Agreed. Mia Farrow being physically and emotionally abusive makes her children more likely to be abused by other parties, not less.

I’m wondering if this was part of the grooming process too, and/or a way to justify what happened. Mia could have been abusive, but the interview doesn’t clarify if Mia was directly abusive to her daughter or if her step father told his step daughter that Mia said those things. I don’t doubt that it was a difficult

I was interested in The First until I heard Penn was in it. I just don’t have the patience for him any more, especially since I’m still trying to find the time to start season two of Greenleaf.

I was doing the family laundry when I was 10 years old. Some of it by hand. I cleaned floors and dusted when I was 7 or 8. We weren’t poor.

Boy, it’s almost like men can be intelligent, thoughtful and open to discussion and change unless they actively choose to listen to the misogynistic patriarchy! Wild!

Yeah that show looks great but I don’t think I’ll be able to watch it because I fucking hate Sean Penn so much.

Also related: “I hardly recognized her as Madonna,” Lt. Bill McSweeney said at the time. “She was weeping, her lip was bleeding and she had obviously been struck.”

I wish there was a way for me to tell Hulu that Sean Penn is the reason my nerdy ass isn’t watching that show. Fuck that abusive sack of shit.

Dear Sean Penn:

ugh right?! like it seems like something i would really like but i abhor him.

Same!

Everything about that show is right up my fandom alley - but I just can’t stand this dude anymore.

I really wish he would shut the fuck up. I want to watch the show “The First” but he is making it very difficult for me to do so.

Had a great conversation just last night about how important men are to the #metoo movement, have also had great conversations with my male boss about misogyny in the legal field and his role and responsibility in actively promoting our female associate including language and perceptions.

Yeah. Unless I missed something, those chores seem pretty similar to what I did as kid to help out around the house.
