It feels almost like they’re shackled by their own lore. I think they should just dump all this goofy future stuff outside the animus. The writing quality between the Layla sections in Odyssey and the main game was noticeably different. Layla and all her friends had clunky dialog, were prone to exposition dumps, and

I always liked the assassin part of Black Flag. Edward really didn’t give a shit about the whole assassin vs templar thing for the bulk of the story. It’s like he kept helping the assassins because they often aligned with his goals, but he didn’t share their passion. Even in the end when he officially joins, it didn’t

That DS game was solid! If I recall correctly that was the one that let you use the microphone to record your own sounds. I had the most ridiculous sound for falling that cracked me up every time I beefed it. I had my wife do her best Homer Simpson “Doh!” It sounded terrible and wonderful at the same time.

Can’t disagree with the rankings on this list. I weirdly got really into Project 8 when that came out. I thought that special move thing you could do where it slows down and zooms in on your feet as you manipulate the board was super cool. Not sure how well it holds up now, but I remember having a good time with it. I

I am not opposed to this. She was clearly having more fun than anyone else in that movie.

Yikes! That is considerably less cool than the movie.

Yeah Stephen King has done that archetype really well in many of his books (Under the Dome has a great one)...not really surprised Ubisoft didn’t pull it off. Sometimes some of their characters and plots have a real “written by committee” feel, especially any of their games with the Tom Clancy branding - that stuff

Exactly, you might as well ask why don’t I like broccoli? Or playing basketball?

Same. I didn’t bother playing 5, because the right wing American loon story was about as unappealing as the same old gameplay loop.

Yeah Michael Mando was responsible for the super charismatic villain trend that Far Cry has run with ever since. I don’t think anyone’s topped him yet. Giancarlo Esposito could though, he’s got a great low key menacing vibe.

Could be! I played it back when it came out on PC and haven’t touched it since, so it’s possible it was added. I know for sure it does a replay from your first-person perspective, not sure about other angles though.

Can’t wait to play this! What I really want is a third person replay after completing a level. Or maybe just multiple camera angles you can choose from to watch your replay.

It’s been a minute since I played a solid mobile runner, so I’m down. Unless it has an energy system. I’ll grind for days, I’m even down to buy a few bucks worth of virtual currency, or purchase an ad-free version, but if the game has an energy system that prevents me from even playing it without paying more, it’s an

Yeah it’s received criticism around here for sure. Kotaku even ran this piece by a doctor in NY who was on the frontlines of their outbreak...who then went home every night to play The Division 2. It was a fascinating and heartbreaking read. It’s weird how some people can suspend moral contradictions in their head

A few years back he came out swinging against toxic masculinity and people really responded to it. A man constantly hired to play the picture of masculinity telling everyone that masculinity is more than that? Sure!

I still remember the trailer for the Amazon phone. All these people staring at the “3D” screen with reactions like it was granting their most secret wishes lol.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I wonder if having the competitor that might have paid him a ton of money to come to them being gone had anything to do with their decision. Then again, I can’t see Microsoft ever courting someone like this dude, there’s too much toxicity around him.

I sure hope the pace of The Umbrella Academy improves for the second season. It took like five episodes to “reveal” a trait of a main character that you can see by literally looking at the cover of the comic. I like the off-kilter almost West Anderson vibe the show lays down though--the art direction and set design is
