My predictions:

Disney will buy/invest big in a video game company.

The GiantBomb quick look Zack mentioned is filled with unintentional disaster. Some truly hilarious moments of a game breaking in the best way. I wouldn’t put any money down for it, but I’m charmed by the game just because of that video.

I’m still early on, but I feel like I get overwhelmed by the enemies pretty quickly. It sucks to die because the load time for the respawn is super long. Despite that I’m really digging it. The Stephen King meets X-Files meets Men In Black vibe of everything is extremely my jam.

That’s the beauty of playing games on PC. There are some people who have modded in MORE obstacles to getting around, all in the name of making it more authentic. Others have made it into what I’m looking for, essentially an Uncharted style game (but with narrative choice). I really enjoy it every time I come back to

Absolutely. I’m no purist. I think encumberance, weapon degradation and potion making add nothing to the game (that goes for most games that have these systems). When I have limited time to play, I don’t want to spend the bulk of it fussing around in menus to make a potion that will help me swing my sword harder at a

If you look at my Witcher 3 saves it tells the story of a man who has made the promise to finish that game every year for the last four years. Started it back up recently after borrowing some Witcher comics from my library app. Then I thought I’d finally beat the game before the show came out.

Lol

This movie was like watching the final season of Game of Thrones: some stunning effects and a few genuinely fun character moments, buried under a messy plot and nonsensical fan service. Just like GoT, I left feeling disappointed, but also relieved to be done.

They should have gone the other way and made him look even MORE like Conan O’Brien.

Oh yeah I don’t think it’s all CEOs, and I agree with your assessment that rapid growth without training can be really bad. There’s lots of research out there on the special brand of crazy of founder-CEOs, especially ones that only ever worked at their own company. They have a tendency to buy into the myth of their

Well yeah, I’m in agreement there, everyone likes shorter presentations. This one was 7 slides though. We met for 45 minutes to figure out how to cut two, because we needed to “maximize our time with his attention span.” Like a damn toddler.

I hope we would be reading articles like this about Steve Jobs. He is the blueprint by which all tech bros build their management style. The “it’s okay if I’m an asshole and trample on people as long as I get results” thing is awful.

I disagree. As children we’re all taught there are consequences for our behavior, but the richer you get, the less that is the case. You can act however you want and face almost no consequences.

It isn’t so bad at all! Got it years ago and my son still plays it on occasion. It’s the game they made before Disney Infinity and it shows. Lots of stuff they further refined in that series started in Toy Story 3. It’s a solid platformer and even has a fun little open world. I wish Disney would just contract

If I had a VR headset I’d get it for this guy alone. Half-Life: Coran!

Yeah okay. I know this already. What is the point of replies like these? I get it, I’ll lose access, corporations own all my games, etc. We all make tradeoffs. I don’t like the Chinese government, but I’m still happily using a phone mostly made in China. I want to own my games, but don’t want physical media, so I’ll

Yeah I really think it would have benefitted Google to just partner with someone like Microsoft or Sony instead of trying this on their own. But tech companies are gonna do their tech company thing and try to dominate every single vertical by themselves.

No, I do not think that. I am aware of the EULA that says I own a license, blah blah blah. But I still downloaded a file that runs on my computer that I can use without the internet. I have long since given up physical media, I don’t have the space for books/DVD/Blu-ray/game cases. Still, “owning” that file on my hard
