The game does not require a guide unless you’re a dopamine slave that requires a perfect completionist run in your first playthrough.

I fail to see how the expected use of consumables in Elden Ring vs. Nioh does anything to address the tedium of interrupting gameplay to farm.

The experience gains nothing for interrupting whatever you are doing to farm those items if you do run out. Finding them the first time in some long forgotten nook of the world? Sure. That is interesting.

While I understand that collecting ingredients is a key feature of most open world games, I REALLY wish that From had just implemented the “consumable” system of Nioh/Nioh 2 instead of crafting.

These guys show up in a later optional, blood themed dungeon as well and this glitch occurred to me there.

From the moment this was announced I was saying this game had no chance of dethroning RF4 as the best title in the series. It was a safe bet given how enriched the previous titles were by legacy content.

The OA is hands down one of the most cathartic hate-watches I have ever experienced.

Yeah that stuck out to me too, there’s a handful of complaints regarding a few liberties made, but by far and large the fan and newcomer reaction was highly positive from all the communities I’ve interacted with.

...does it upset you to learn that dodge rolls and backstabs have returned?

I mean, apart from Control what else even counts in the AAA space?

Weapon durability was fine in DL1. The game is not about finding epic loot to waste your foes, its about scrounging for whatever scrappy pipe you can find and modifying it enough to be capable for a few choice encounters. The end result is a game that values being resourceful and making you choose when to fight and

How can I, a true gamer, enjoy HZD without BESPOKE, HAND CRAFTED, WHOLLY UNIQUE animations for every generic action I have repeated in games ad-nauseum for 30+ years?

Made first contact with this galaxy brain take.

The dedication involved in salvaging this sounds like a massive undertaking, and preservation is a noble goal, but like most here (and I would venture elsewhere) I can’t wrap my head around the “why”.

“Attacking NFTs by saying ‘Oh I can just right-click and save that stupid JPEG’ is a bit like someone else taking a picture in front of my Porsche, posting it on Instagram, and saying, ‘Check out my sweet ride.’ But it’s not their ride - they can’t sell or (in the case of an NFT with utility) drive my car. I can. All

I think he even mentioned this upcoming translation in one of his recent vids? Would love for him to do a full review now that he can enjoy it.

My problem there is that scenario is built on a lack of player skill, something we don’t have agency over in this interaction.

My main issue with it is that the added penalty of taking both HP and Stamina damage when blocking with a weapon or a shield with a low block percentage is just too damn high.

I hold pretty much the opposite opinion regarding spell charges vs. MP bar. I think the MP bar is functionally impossible to balance around, especially when paired with MP replenishing consumables.

I agree that the complaints about “gank squads” are largely unfounded. The game is built in such a way that you are expected to fight groups of enemies, and given the tools to do so. Poise, lifegem heal-over-time, and the easy access to at least one school of magic give you the toolkit needed to deal with (most) of
