Yeah... a lot of history goes towards saying that doctors saying something is safe doesn't stop it being classed as human experimentation. And a procedure like this is not one that is well tested. This transplant, if it goes ahead, will be an experiment to see if the procedure works. And the incentives are all lined…
Being "deserving" is far from the only thing to consider for people waiting on transplants, for whom there are simply not enough organs. Nature of the illness, type matching, and distance. Desert has little to do with it.
