It was offered elsewhere in the world as a hybrid. In fact, I think North America may have been the only place it was offered with a gasoline-only drivetrain. It was exclusively a hybrid in other markets.

Yup. Came here to write this. I’ve seen better plastics in the Rubbermaid aisle at Home Depot. The Caliber was the worst of the worst of that era. Everything you touched was like, “Really? Really‽ ” So bad.

Absolutely, yes. These are classic, for a reason.

From what I’ve read, the software for how and when the range extender kicked in needed some work. And the North American rEx software worked differently than in Europe, presumably to hit certain EPA targets.
