An Archer and Armstrong movie could easily be on the same level of Guardians of the Galaxy if they did it right. Puritan child soldier escapes from doomsday cult and teams up with immortal, drunken man mountain who likes to write terrible poetry and talks in old English aphorisms

Well, no, not really. It’s more “What if Jason Bourne got mixed with John Rambo and he had robots in his blood that made him almost un-killable” then one day he wakes up, doesn’t remember who he is and his handlers want him dead.

That’s...actually a really solid casting choice honestly

I...don’t think they’re on the same channel? Outlander is on Starz while Hap & Leonard is on Sundance, which is the same channel that Rectify was on. I’m pretty sure the show is safe since the show has done well for their network and they don’t have a whole lot else in terms of original shows, but yeah it’s criminally

She was great in Hap and Leonard as that shows version of a Femme Fatale.

Agreed, it was more the type of movie she’s playing a mom in though, a slasher movie that apparently has paper thin characterization because she’s basically just fodder for the villains to murder, similar to how Judy Greer has basically become typecast as “leading woman’s friend” in movies.

Also is this really what Christina Hendricks has been reduced to now? Playing a mom in a slasher film? She’s an amazing actress and one of the most beautiful women currently working in the industry despite being the dreaded “over 30" (I’m speaking of course from the batshit insane perspective of Executives who

So...wait. Should I actually watch this? Because it sounds fucking insane!

Most Yakuza movies are extremely formulaic, it’s why I love them, you’d think I’d get tired of watching yet another movie from the 60's about an extremely skilled loner who doesn’t even really seem to want to be a Yakuza, or is trying to go straight or is extremely loyal to his aging boss, who gets set-up or betrayed

That doesn’t fit modern children’s interests let alone children of the near future, I only know about that stuff because I’m a fucking weirdo who would have been stuffed in lockers if I wasn’t a good foot taller than any potential bullies and if my school had lockers

I don’t live in the UK, so there was no way for me to have heard of this show or even obtain and view it that I’m aware of, it’s been hard enough tracking down shows like Garth Marenghi’s Dark Place on torrent sites for me to want to go down the rabbit hole of finding a satirical panel show that ran for five years in

That’s bizarre though, Ultraman came to the states in the 60s, Gundam didn’t hit stateside until the 90s and Toho Spider-man while being from the 70s golden age of Tokusatsu shows wasn’t localized in the US until the late 2000s at least. I thought the book was supposed to be an 80s nostalgia fest.

I thought I heard him say he would murder his entire family. Also, apparently it’s a remake of James Toback’s first movie, so...that’s something you know now!

It’s what the cartoon virtual reality avatar of the main character looks like

Leopardon!!!!!!!

But enough about Harvey Weinstein

Hearing Capaldi speak at a Q & A at a convention last year, I got the impression he’s not the type of actor who likes to repeat himself, he seemed entirely committed to the idea that it was time for someone else to be Doctor Who and didn’t even entertain the idea he’d likely ever be back in any capacity. I feel like

He also stole the entire show (even ones he was barely in!) in In the Loop’s television basis (in which Malcolm Tucker originated) The Thick Of It

The Thick of It is one of the best comedies of all time, and yet Iannucci seems cursed to be known as “Veep’s Armando Iannucci”
