...John Waters is directing this?
Pink Cadillac?
Legion is more just how David is viewing the world, per Noah Hawley’s explanation of the retro feel of the show.
That must’ve been what I was thinking of, though Seuss and his life definitely would lend themselves better to a more adult biographical film, dude had an interesting, not always PG-rated life
Was he cast in a role within the acting range he displayed in Justice League? Y’know, like a sheet of cardboard, or a tree?
Maurice Sendak was a goddamn national treasure, as evidenced by every wonderfully cranky and sarcastic interview he ever gave, I still get a kick out of just thinking about his multi-part interview with Stephen Colbert in which he easily kept up with and bested Stephen’s famously off-putting interview style
“Director of ‘Wonder’” ...So this probably isn’t going to focus on the filthy, filthy smut Dr. Seuss used to draw for Playboy? Or the fact that he was a notorious smartass and weisenheimer?
The true villain was capitalism all along!
Wouldn’t it be cool if he was just a cool dude, and then some other villain pops up? ...Wait Pixar is owned by Disney now right? Nevermind then.
I saw it as the Incredibles takes place in the same time period Archer takes place
Monsters University was great, although since you specified sequels and that one was a prequel I’m going to take your statement as an endorsement of Monsters University, which is a perfectly cromulent opinion to have
Claremont also didn’t have a huge impact on the entire genre, he was wildly popular and successful, and is credited with bringing the X-men to the height of their popularity, but you can’t look at his work and contributions and point out how he influenced modern comics. People aren’t reading a comic today and calling…
It’s legitimate in the sense that both had huge sales that continue to this day despite a large amount of fan backlash, as well as both being incredibly prolific, they’re also both Writer/Artists. I feel like that argument can be reasonably made, yes, but my point was that it’s insane to attempt such an argument.
I’ll admit I have enjoyed the few times they’ve had a good ol’fashioned internet fight, but that feeling of satisfaction usually gives way to the existential dread that is best illustrated by Alien Vs. Predator’s tagline “No matter who wins...We lose.”
Wakanda isn’t a dystopia though, the Prince is groomed to be a just ruler who will do anything to protect their people, that is why they take the mantle of the Black Panther, he is the just protector of the nation and it’s a Kings duty to literally put themselves in harm’s way to defend their nation. Also a lot of…
Seeing as this was made about 12 years before he died, it makes sense that his output would change, most artists slow down considerably in their later years, so this style was probably the only way he could put out the work at a reasonable pace. I’m sure he still had the same kind of mind blowing art he was known for…
Dark Horse has been publishing old works by him recently, trying to focus on stuff that’s either never seen an English release or that hasn’t been available in years. They started with World of Edena about a year ago, this one will be collected into three volumes in English for the first time
Well, him and Recognitions
It’s not a traditional monarchy, at least in the comics, the mantle of King has to be earned, the children of the king have an advantage in the trial to become king as they are groomed from birth to excel at them, but any citizen of Wakanda can challenge for the title. Erik Killmonger tried to take the mantle in the…
