@KyleW: seriously! it's not uncommon abroad. The US has a weird guilty relationship with alcohol.

@Seeräuber Jenny: Right on! Some of these posts from Pyschology Today have been downright useless. Go make lemonade with that lifehacker! ;)
Okay, I have to bring this up. There have been many diy knife sharpening tips on lifehacker, and so I want to open this to discussion.
@everalainagi: the photos above make the camera strap appear to be cut and held together by the cap holder, but the photos after the jump show the strap threaded through the holder. The strap remains intact.
An older version of Handbrake, v0.91, includes copyright breaking and still works on Snow Leopard. I keep both the latest version and that version in my applications folder, renaming the latter Handbrake091.

In the past, I've been with Sprint, Cingular, then Sprint again, and now with Verizon. My order would be Verizon, Cingular, with Sprint not even worth mentioning. The first time I was with them, I just didn't know better. The second time I was forced to switch. I'm surprised AT&T does so poorly, because Cingular…
Music without lyrics: classical, electronic, and post-rock. Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Explosions in the Sky while working.
Okay, given that some of my meat is already freezer burned. Any ideas on recipes that best mask the flavor, e.g. stews vs stir fry?
@wargames2007: Maybe you want to watch them on a plane or during a commute. Maybe you want to download them at your faster work connection to watch at home. Collecting them would be kind of strange, but there are reasons to store them locally for a time.
Regarding knives, I think a magnetized knife honer (edge straightener) is more important than a knife sharpener, at least for the average user. A well-honed knife will not need to be sharpened very often. If you do regular house cooking, honing once a day is sufficient; pro chefs and butchers hone by the hour.
@doogie: I'm calling BS on this. No one forced the banks to provide the loans. They were simply barred from discriminating against certain areas. They were still allowed to apply normal bank wisdom—-something they forgot to do when their greed overcame them. BTW, this law was passed under the Carter…
Glossy screens and only glossy screens on the MBP?!? I can't stand them. Shiny does not mean better, it means "hey, I can't see a part of my screen because of the glare." No mouse button? Have we come to value form over function to this degree? Well, I am no longer in the market for a 15" MBP.
Lots of vitamin C and other antioxidants.
Excellent, I have always wanted something like this. Too many sites have excess colors and banners in their "for print" versions, e.g. in a receipt or confirmation page. Thanks.
I spend way to many hours on my computer; my job depends on it. I like to think of it this way: my OS is another office space. I have to dwell in it just as much as I do my physical office space. Just as I want my physical office to be organized according to my work flow, the same is true for my computer, and that…
@Kirk Douglas: AGREED. The amount of time I would save looking up the info placed on that desktop versus their distraction is minimal.
We once opened a wine bottle using a big syringe, forcing air into the bottle and letting the pressure do the work. A neat trick for a lab without a corkscrew.
I switched before XP during the trail end of 98. 98 killed me, just a horrible, horrible OS.
@karmaghost: Was about to say the same thing. Annoying part is that the thumbs look 16:10, but the linked pictures are not. It is a nice collection of photos though.
