Nobody has to pay $100 for a spaceship. CIG has outright said many times that you are getting very little value for your money in terms of direct rewards. What you get for $100 you can get after a few hours of gameplay - if you want to take part but don’t want to spend much, just buy a starter ship and enjoy the ride,

I think the bigger issue is that some “high-quality” publications that are after click-baity titles try to make their readers think that the sky is falling and backers are jumping ship left and right. In reality, most of us are pretty content with what we are seeing and are enjoying everything that CIG let us try

Not at all. Star Citizen is actually two games, Star Citizen (the MMO) and Squadron 42 (which is basically a new single player Wing Commander game). If starting out small and having bigger fish in the pond intimidates you (can be absolutely understandable, especially if you don’t plan to sink so much time into it) -

The german Gamestar magazine has a nice video review of his latest game. Definitely worth a watch, it really puts this whole drama into perspective :)

New content for the price of a full game of course. Also, the game feels utterly empty and can hold your attention only so long after the 100th fetch quest, REC grind, exploration of procedurally generated systems. I really hope that SC will turn out to be MUCH more than the snooze fest that is ED.
