In 2012, I had a co-worker who basically knew how to talk about three things: Sailor Moon, her newborn daughter (who was named after a character from Sailor Moon), and fucking Ready Player One. Ooh, boy, she is going to be into this.
The whole thing, and each individual component. On multiple levels. (Which is not to say I question its validity. Only that I once admired him, and at this point I barely care enough to even muster any disappointment.)
But that’s insane?
Oof. Let’s just pray Coppola can look past your advice, to the rare merit of hackneyed, hand-gesturing Dave Coulier.
I wonder. Those shows both debuted a few years after my own diagnosis, and each helped me understand something about myself I’d struggled with my whole life, and offered me a way to talk about it. The Big Bang Theory gets a lot of hate, of course, and I won’t say it’s unjustified; but while I prefer being compared to…
I’m still hoping for a really faithful “Triominoes” movie. Like, don’t even bother with the origin story next time, guys! We all know what dominoes are!
Yeah, even they must know that Connor MacLeod, the fucking Highlander, wore a kilt. Why would they think there can be only one?
“Who is Max Mouse?” is honestly one the better arcs on Ghostwriter. The only reason she should be “embarrassed” is if she can’t, in fact, jam with the console cowboys in cyberspace, hasn’t read Neuromancer, and hasn’t experienced the new wave, next wave, or even the dream wave. It’s too bad this interview doesn’t get…
Counterpoint: Spider-Man 2 (2004).
Nah, it’s a great idea. There’s a pandemic, he’s not touring, and the two have worked well together in the past. It’s not rocket problems.
My only real theory is that he owns a bitchin’ Andy Samberg mask.
roughly 40% of the populace will view this election, and the succeeding presidency, as illegitimate and stolen.
LeVar Burton? OK, he has my vote.
Probably for the best. I’ve seen too much fanboy blood spilt over the years in the Albano/Martinette wars.
Who knew this guy was such a mensch?
Ah-ha! I was all set to proclaim this the final piece of the “pad” puzzle, but after a quick skim, I’m convinced that would be an understatement.
I can imagine that angle offering sturdy enough support for a flimsy SNL sketch, but it may be a bit advanced for the (seemingly) hundreds of comments I seem to recall popping up within an hour or so of the announcement. I was in the industry at the time, though, so I may have been watching more closely than most.
And Alex Trebek! What did that guy do to deserve it?
I saw the first one and found it perfectly charming, though I recall wishing it was more of a true standalone. The series arc stuff bored me.
