My MIL is an anti-vaxxer. My husband does not have autism but her daughter (his sister) does. Her daughter was also born so very premature and with extensive brain damage, so any chance of “normalcy” was gone from birth, but she claims it was vaccines, even though my husband’s cousins have autism as well. I thought

Oh god, that’s the same diatribe my in-laws give me *even though they have a disabled daughter who is 100% dependent on tons of different programs.* But it will take them losing that money for her to see this. Otherwise, they praise Trump’s ability to “tell it like it is.” I hope that gives Trump voters comfort when

I’m worried about gerrymandering, too. I live in a really gerrymandered state and this makes me worried that the courts won’t intervene anymore. NC is so gerrymandered that it’s 3-1 in most districts so Republicans are re-elected with little competition

This devastated me. There’s no escape from partisan bullshit in any branch whatsoever. The U.S. never flourishes under Conservative bullshit and yet so many have embraced it. So glad Trump now gets to stack the court because people found Hilary cold and “criminal.” /s

This is always my go-to point with anti-vaxxers. They, themselves, are vaccinated against a host of awful, tragic diseases, yet they want to prevent their kids from the same access because of fake claims about autism and god knows what other chem trail bullshit. They don’t take the diseases seriously because they’ve

Even if a lawsuit occurs, I feel like pretty much nothing will result from it. I fully appreciate that normal, non-politician folk have to be mindful of all laws, not even try to resist a little when corrupt cops point gun in faces, and try to remain scandal-free to keep jobs. Meanwhile, these entitled fucks can do

Seriously. I’ve had to explain basic civics to family members WAY older than me who have served on juries.

I wonder, too, how many good cops leave from sheer jadedness (not a word, but you get the idea). My FIL was a cop and has told us more than once that the people surrounding him were violent, angry, and dumb, and he left the force to get away from the corruption (he worked in a big city). It’s like teaching: good

I’m so tired of the “the cop was scared narrative.” THEN QUIT YOUR FUCKING JOB if you are so terrified you’re trigger happy. Seriously, I’m afraid of people all the time, I can’t just shoot them unjustified, so why can cops?

Oh man, Grunt was so good. I’m a military brat, so reading the histories behind the science of armor/brain injuries, etc. fascinated the hell out of me.

That’s really impressive! My SIL has autism so I can see how hard it is for her to process emotion sometimes. Hell, even I can’t regulate my own emotion at times, so for a an 8 year old to be making real progress like that is great. So glad for the both of you :)

I’m surprised they 1) re-made this and 2) started the franchising off with this. I re-watched the original and was stunned by how little “action” there is and how the woman in the movie is supposed to be under the spell of the mummy but actually proves stronger. Plus, some of Karloff’s looks are just insane and he

When I worked retail, Day One, I was told that if my register was missing something like $7, the cops would arrive and I would lose my job. I got maybe 10 minutes of training on the register and figured it out. Trump got years of claiming he wanted to be President. Maybe he should have googled some shit.

I always hope she worked out ok. :/ I got the hell out of there at the end of year.

When I was teaching public school so many OF THE FEMALE TEACHERS were the ones who were brutal to students about the dress code. Boys never were called down. And if I had a daughter and she was put through half the shit that I saw the school put the girls through I’d be there raising fiery hell.

Ha, you’d at least get hauled down and bitched out for not supporting dress codes. I taught college a few years ago and when an adjunct job fell through I had to long-term sub for an 8th grade class. Since I had already taught college, you know, a place where kids routinely come to class with pjs on, I couldn’t give a

Penny looks so happy!

I love how formal their names are for the dishes. Everything is just cake here, so it feels really fresh

Agreed! I often think about how different it would be in America: judges belittling rather than teaching, back-stabbing, shit talking, pot stirring. I’d watched reality shows before and was so stunned by this one. It really turned me off to dumb American competition shows with their artificial drama.

I love that people find it when they are sick, too. It’s such a positive show that it made me feel better despite being stuck in bed all day
